Arena Aviation was founded in 1995 making us one of the more established private operators. We hold a CAA Public Transport AOC and have a DEFRA approval for carrying suitably vaccinated pets in and out of the UK. We are part of a television broadcasting group called Arena Holdings which was founded in 1989. The group remains in family ownership. Arena is also a 'Telegraph 1000' business.
Arena Aviation initially provided helicopters for specialist aerial filming and VIP charters in the media, music and sporting sectors. You will probably have seen our work without realising it. We own and operate the BBC News and Sky News helicopters (both are sign-written in each client's colours). We also film TV commercials, cinema films and various sequences for TV shows.
Arena Television our sister company provides well over 1,000 hours a year of prime time television for all of the UK's broadcasters. TV companies no longer own the facilities and crews to film events outside of their own studios, so companies like Arena are contracted to cover everything from England Football Internationals and Rugby matches, to the Glastonbury Music Festival and BBC Springwatch.
With much of our broadcast work being live event coverage with worldwide audiences in the billions for events like the London Olympics, Euro 2012 and the Royal Wedding. We use military precision to ensure every aspect of the business runs smoothly, whilst of course maintaining a very important hands-on personal touch with all of our clients.
We believe being regularly vetted by and working for some major corporations and PLC's, means we are a safe and competent pair of hands, to look after top-level charter clients. We are also good at being flexible and adapting to a client's changing needs.
